What is a WETT Report?
A WETT Report is an official document that is provided by someone who is certified to conduct a WETT Inspection. The WETT inspection includes the certified inspector looking at the installation of a solid fuel burning appliance, such as wood stove or wood fireplace, comparing the actual installation against local and national codes, as well as the manufacturer's installation instruction. In a nutshell, it is an inspection of the condition and installation of your wood burning appliance. Do I need a WETT Report in Kelowna?
Whether or not you need a WETT Report will depend on your specific situation. The most common request for a WETT report is from you insurance company. You may also want to consider a WETT report if you are buying a new home that has a wood stove or wood fireplace so that you can get an expert opinion on the installation of the solid fuel burning appliance and its condition. Though not common, some municipalities in the Okanagan require a WETT Report for new installation of wood stoves and fireplaces.
